3D Scanning

Advanced Modeling and Field Analysis

Echometrics and the Industry

3D Laser Scanning is becoming a new standard for many AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) applications. Traditional AEC procedures rely on 2D drawings, details, and floor plans, which are often extracted from ideal BIM models. In respect to fabrication and installation on an existing part/site however, drawings are inaccurate and single point measurements are time-consuming and unreliable.

By utilizing 3D Laser Scanning and total stations, we capture a physical object’s exact shape, size, and location into the digital world as a 3-dimensional representation. From here, as-built CAD models of large areas can be extracted and various parts and components can be modeled in exact detail.

About Echometrics

Echometrics is a professional 3D laser scanning, dimensional inspection and CAD modeling company. We offer a wide variety of services in the construction, architecture and engineering industries. Our specialties include 2D working drawings, 3D as-built CAD and BIM models, fabrication drawings, reverse engineering, and complex site installations.

We are experienced in a variety of applications and our products are unique to each customer. We use the latest high-accuracy Leica and Faro laser scanners and total stations for reliable measurements. We register data with the latest Leica Cyclone and ReCap softwares, and we continuously develop our own standalone software for data processing and modeling optimization.

Our goal as a company is to expand our customers current scope of practice while reducing total project costs. We are committed to delivering highly accurate and precise products with reliability and confidence.

About 3D Laser Scanning

Using the latest long-range LIDAR laser scanners, we ensure precision, accuracy and reliability of large volume measurements. Each scan takes millions of measured points, which collectively create a 3D “point cloud”. Many point clouds are stitched together to generate precise digital representations of large and complex areas. These point clouds are used to develop as-built CAD models which are then utilized to accomplish complex tasks that are not otherwise achievable with traditional methods. The saying is, “measure twice—cut once” but with 3D laser scanning and analysis, only one measurement setup is required and millions of precise dimensions can be extracted.
